Maintenance completed Prior to pick-up 23rd June 2005:

No. 1,3,4,& 5 cylinders removed and new cylinder assemblies fitted

Horizontal stabilator removed for repaint. Metal repairs completed. Sent to paint shop, then balance checked and re-fitted

Magnetos removed for internal 500 hrly inspection and repair, refitted after repair and timed.

Alternator drive belt replaced

Starter Bendix drive replaced

New battery fitted

RH rear seat forward support top hat channel removed, corrosion removed, treated and primed, internal doubler replaced and top hat section refitted.

Entrance step internal doubler replaced

Engine baffles repaired

L&R rear seat lap belts replaced

Remove vert stab top fairing for VOR antenna replacement and rework fairing to suit

LAME found that the retaining ring within the ball bearing on the RHS magneto had broken. No balls had left the races, however, all of the retaining ring could not be accounted-for therefore the Engineer required us to bulk-strip the engine. The cost of the bulk strip is close to the cost of an overhaul, so we have decided to overhaul the engine. The plane will have a zero time full life engine re-installed, and return to the charter NVFR category.

Received the invoice (26/12/2006) for Christmas, but no engine as yet. Work was completed on engine 5/3/2007:

Mandatory parts replaced

MPI, and DPI Crack testing

Engine CAD Plating

Carburettor overhaul

Magnetos overhauled (again)

Starter overhaul

Alternator overhaul

Governor overhaul

Two new cylinders (now all genuine Lycoming) were added. All 6 cylinders have been replaced

Crankcase repaired and line-bored.

Machine connecting rods

New big end bearings, new main bearings,

New camshaft and followers

We took this opportunity to thoroughly go over the aircraft and refurbish/renew those components in need of upgrading and/or refurbishing. A lot of this work was done to bring the aircraft up to our standard.

Oil Cooler Flush

Renew vacuum regulator filter, and gyro filter

Clean and lubricate needle bearings

Renew fuel tank vent lines

ELT batteries replaced

2X brake linings renewed

Flap cable attach bolt inspection completed

Renew stab trim pulleys under rear tunnel, and aft cabin bulkhead

Re-shim main torque links

Repair carb. Heat valve, fit new grommets

Repair CHT wiring, and resecure

Repair primer lines

Repair engine baffle plates, repaint and refit, replace baffle rubber

New lead for alternator

Renew aileron balance pulley, and re-tension cables

Renew pilot control universal joint, lubricate

Disassemble nose gear and rebuild

Rectify fuel drain cover

Remove and treat surface corrosion Flaps, LH aileron, fin, rudder and fuselage

Fit new governor cable assembly

Fit new air filter element

Vacuum pump removed, repaired and installed

Landing light and wiring renewed

Nose gear wheel bearings renewed

Oil temp wire re-terminated and fitted to sender

Carby wiring re-terminated and spliced to existing lead

Engine re-installed with new hoses and wiring

Time expired vacuum pump renewed, new pump s/n 50252
